Alert. Social. Eyes on the horizon.
Like the meerkat, this release is all about staying responsive, tuned in, and supporting the pack.
At Vedi, our development team runs in two separate streams, running concurrently, but staggered. Lasting six weeks each.
One stream is the new feature stream (all the shiny new things). The other stream focuses on existing functionality that can be enhanced, iterated upon, or fixed based on feedback and insights gathered in the wild.
Meerkat is one of the latter.
This release has been focused on eliminating friction, the minor annoyances that slow down otherwise great workflows. It's a set of targeted improvements and problem-solvers that came straight from user feedback, particularly from clinics running at full tilt.
Major Enhancements
🐾 General Vedi Portal & tools
- Certain users weren’t seeing vaccination records as expected, that’s been fixed.
- When checking in patients, we’ve resolved some issues with the ‘gender’ and ‘desexed’ fields.
- Some users were MIA on the ‘signing list’ (when submitting to labs or signing certificates). That’s been fixed.
- Some clients get free access to Vedi, sponsored by the service they’re submitting to. The sponsorship code system behind that has been improved.
- Improvements and validation have been added to the process of performing batch litter microchip registrations.
🐾 Microchip registration
- No longer pre-fills a new registration's name with “Unknown” or “Not found”.
- In VIC, implanter numbers are now required.
- Resolved failure to register HomeSafeID chips when moved between registries.
🐾 Vaccine and health certificates
- Vet registration now displays correctly.
- Vaccination dates now display without time.
- Fixed issue with sharing health certificates from the app.
🐾 PIMS Integrations
- VisionVPM: Enhanced record creation and updates.
- ezyVet: DOB now syncs correctly from check-in.
🐾 ER hospital check-in & admissions
- Improved visibility of dropdown lists for Breed, Colour, and Regular Vet.
- We’ve enabled region-wide search when a client chooses their regular GP vet.
- Referring vets can access check-in details via a one-time passcode.
- We’ve added Clipboard sync in RxWorks, so that patients are now added to the active clipboard on check-in.
- Fixed issue where the system rejected the first edit after an AI summary is generated.
- The system is delivering more explicit conflict messages to users during admissions edits.
- The desexed checkbox now auto-selects appropriately.
🐾 Pet Passport and certificate improvements
- "Add to Wallet" icons now render correctly in emails.
- Pass links load immediately on page load.
The team also tackled a host of backend and infrastructure changes and improvements.
This kind of release doesn’t get the flashy announcements, but a huge proportion of our users feel the quality-of-life improvements.
So, that’s Meerkat. Released into the wild.
